Shamanic Rituals
Off the beaten track and even off the mainstream part of the alternative world, one can find the path of Shamanism. Sacred work is done in Costa Rica as well, mainly by foreigners who chose to live here. Among others sweat lodge rituals can be found, native Indian rituals brought from Mexico and South America and Shamanic journeys. Local indigenous ceremonies are difficult to encounter but people who choose to spen time with local tribes in their remote places of residence may participate in some.
Although known among many around the world who walk the shamanic path, shamanic journeys and rituals in Costa Rica are known to a relatively small group of people. We bring you here a hand picked selection of rituals which are authentic and true to the mystical nature of shamanism.
PachaMama Village
Shamanism is not a term used in PachaMama often although the Camino Rojo (red Road) is well present in many activities year round. Sweat Lodge ceremonies take place almost every week. Often with Roadmen from Mexico and Colombia. Shamanic journeys and traditional indigenous rituals also take place a few times year. For those who want to take a dip in this path, there is no better place to start than in PachaMama.
